"Mortality, Health, and Productivity in the American Construction of the Panama Canal" (Version 1.6, May 2008)
The 1904-1914 construction of the Panama Canal as a laboratory in which to test hypotheses relating worker disease, quits and mortality to organizational efficiency. Preliminary draft. Sorry for the ugly table; it will be incorporated in the PDF in a nicer way in the next few days. Hope to have Version 2.0, with new data, finished by mid-July. (This was my 210 paper.)
"Fertility, HIV/AIDS and Demographic Transition in Sub-Saharan Africa"
My paper about the long-run economic effects of HIV on sub-Saharan Africa. Sorry for being overly wordy. (December 2006)
An experimental economics paper upon which I worked as a research assistant.
